Estudios sobre la reencarnación

El estudio de la reencarnación ha experimentado un desarrollo notable recientemente, aunque sigue siendo un campo marcado por la controversia y el escepticismo académico. Este artículo revisa el estado actual de los estudios sobre reencarnación, abarcando evidencia empírica, debates filosóficos, perspectivas interculturales y desafíos metodológicos. Se realizó una revisión sistemática de la literatura para identificar, seleccionar, evaluar críticamente y sintetizar la situación actual de los estudios sobre reencarnación. Se identificaron 918 artículos potencialmente relevantes en las bases de datos Semantic Scholar y PubMed. Tras aplicar criterios de elegibilidad, se incluyeron los 50 estudios más pertinentes y relevantes. Los resultados sugieren que la investigación empírica sobre reencarnación se ha centrado en los casos de reencarnación en niños que afirman recordar vidas pasadas; a pesar de la abundancia de casos, la comunidad científica es escéptica respecto a la interpretación de estos datos: las críticas se centran en la falta de controles rigurosos, la posibilidad de transmisión de información por vías normales, el sesgo de confirmación y la influencia de creencias culturales. Se concluye que la reencarnación es un tema con abundante documentación empírica, pero sin consenso porque la investigación científica asume que si algo no se puede ver, tocar o medir, no existe. Sin embargo, los estudios sobre la reencarnación desde la perspectiva de la mente, los pensamientos, la memoria y la conciencia desafían a la investigación tradicional porque son elementos que no se ven, no pueden tocar ni medir, pero sí existen; quizá no son reales, pero se pueden hacer realidad.
